Boyne Walk almost 50 Years in Business

The directors of Boyne Walk, have been involved in Irish Dance since 1956, having been a member of The Executive of An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha since than and the Irish Dance Footwear industry since the early 1970’s, having operated a retail outlet in Dublin, a manufacturing centre and then a wholesale business from Dundalk, dealing exclusively in Irish dance related products.
The dance boom of recent years has resulted in a tremendous increase in demand for Irish dance footwear leading inevitably to the expansion of this dedicated Irish Dance footwear business.

Eamonn De Bhál’s professional background is in footwear manufacture and consultancy having worked for Clark’s shoes and many other footwear manufacturers.  His long standing association with An C.L.R.G., Irish dancing and his professional background, meant that he was in a unique position to understand the needs of dancers when he began his own business in 1972 supplying and manufacturing Irish dancing shoes.  Initially trading as Dealga Dancewear until the early ’90’s from a premises in Mary Street, Dublin, this family run business was the first dedicated Irish Dance Shop in the world.

Ciaran De Bhál has also worked in this family business all his life at every level, retail, wholesale and manufacture. This experience coupled with a background in sales and marketing continues to drive the business forward. The name changed to Boyne Walk Ltd. in 1998 under Ciarán’s stewardship and still trades successfully from Dundalk in Ireland will celebrate 50 years in business in 2022.
